LOUISVILLE, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Lightyear Network Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB:LYNS.obNews) (www.lightyear.net), a provider of telecommunication services to businesses and residential customers throughout North America, announced today that it has added new Authorized Agent Partners and independent Representatives from 16 states during the past 90 days.

The new Partners and Representatives have agencies based across the nation, including in states such as Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.

“We are pleased to announce that we have added a significant number of new Agent Partners and Representatives during the past 90 days,” said J. Sherman Henderson III, CEO of Lightyear. “We are already seeing results from our efforts to aggressively recruit new sales agents from across the country. In September, for example, which was one of our best months this year, approximately 73 percent of our new business was derived from our new sales agents, and we expect them to continue to help drive organic growth going forward.”

Lightyear’s strong value proposition, full array of network services, nationwide footprint, aggressive commission structure and superior back-office support are the thrust of its recruitment message to potential agent partners.

The new agents, whose telecom industry experience varies from several years to more than 15 years, will focus on selling Lightyear’s entire product portfolio of data, voice and wireless offerings to business and residential customers throughout their selling areas. Management believes these agents have the potential of driving more than a million dollars in new revenue in 2011.

“I am excited about having joined Lightyear as an Agent Partner,” said Chris Sauter, whose telecom agency Carmason Group is based in Littleton, Colorado. “Being a Lightyear agent affords me the opportunity to leverage the company’s strong carrier agreements and competitive pricing to gain considerable advantages for my large-volume, long-distance customers and win their business. Also, I’ve found that the company’s back-office sales, marketing and quoting support has been second to none.”

Lightyear, which began operations as UniDial, was an early adopter of the channel partner philosophy, starting in 1993 when agents were initially recruited to market its telecommunication services. These agents continue to market and sell telecommunication services to businesses throughout the United States.
